Project Description

This project took a 1960’s kitchen in a 1920’s house and upgraded it for a growing family. The outdated storage closet was removed and two pantry cabinets were installed. When the house was built, refrigeration was in its infancy, dishwashers were still 40 years away and microwave ovens were 60 years in the future. By starting from scratch, the compromises of the past were eliminated and the kitchen was designed for our client’s lifestyle. We took a space that had adjustment after adjustment and created a modern kitchen that is efficient but respects the architecture of the house. Storage innovations abound and a microwave drawer will allow their children to prepare after school snacks on their own.
