Buyer Beware! Paint is not paint.  There are significant differences.

One of the current trends in cabinetry is painted cabinets instead of stained wood.  Factory finished cabinets are painted with conversion varnish or catalyzed lacquer.  These activated finishes have a chemical added to the paint to accelerate drying.  Cabinets can be dry in 30 minutes depending on the amount of catalyst added so in the manufacturing environment it very beneficial. The client also gets a finish that gets much harder than a traditional paint or varnish and this means the finish will wear longer.  The downside of the catalyzed finishes is that if the client wants a glaze or highlight, it’s generally has to be done within 24 to 48 hours of the base coat of finish being applied.  Otherwise, the base coat is too hard to allow the glaze or highlight to properly adhere to the surface and the top coating can fail. Why is this important?  Because starting a finishing job on Thursday or Friday means the crew may have to work through the weekend to get the project done.  Once the finishing starts – it has to keep going. Since proper design is critical to the success of a kitchen or bathroom project, Momentum Construction utilizes a design/build approach. This means we are responsible for creating the design as well as delivering the finished project.  Momentum Construction is the place to start your kitchen or bathrrom remodeling project because it’s Designed for you™ from beginning to end.
